I AM TIRED
I am on my 7th shift in a row. Your prayers would be appreciated. I worked an evening shift as a ward nurse last Wednesday, evening Charge Nurse shifts Thursday and Friday, day shift Charge Nurse shifts Saturday and Sunday, yesterday I worked a day shift from 8:00-5:00pm as VVF Co-Coordinator and today and tomorrow I work evening Charge Nurse shifts. Wow, I am sorta feeling exhausted. Pray for my continued strength, patience, and endurance. I don't want my lack of energy to come across to the patients I am here to serve. I want my conversations to be flowing with grace and love, but when I am tired, that is harder! I am looking forward to a few days off starting Thursday, but Thursday seems so far away right now! Yikes! I love you all!

Dear LORD,
Show Laura what You want her to do today to be a blessing to others. May she not be so physically exhausted the she doesn't see the opportunity for ministering Your life to those around her. Show her what You want her to do and enable her to have the energy and strength to do it. Please give her all she needs to minister life, hope, help, and healing to others. Make her one of your faithful servants, teaching her You are sufficient to provide all she needs. Help her to make a big difference in the world because You are working through her to touch lives for Your glory. May her greatest treasure always be in serving You.
Isaiah 40 (The Message)
He doesn't get tired out, doesn't pause to catch his breath.
And he knows everything, inside and out.
He energizes those who get tired,
gives fresh strength to dropouts.
For even young people tire and drop out,
young folk in their prime stumble and fall.
But those who wait upon God get fresh strength.
They spread their wings and soar like eagles,
They run and don't get tired,
they walk and don't lag behind.
Dear LORD,
I praise You as the God of restoration, for I know You can restore Laura's relationships to complete wholeness. Help her to be in unity with others and to be compassionate, loving, tenderhearted, and courteous, not returning evil for evil, but rather only giving blessings to them.
I Peter 3:8-12 (The Message)
Summing up: Be agreeable, be sympathetic, be loving, be compassionate, be humble. That goes for all of you, no exceptions. No retaliation. No sharp-tongued sarcasm. Instead, bless—that's your job, to bless. You'll be a blessing and also get a blessing.
Whoever wants to embrace life
and see the day fill up with good,
Here's what you do:
Say nothing evil or hurtful;
Snub evil and cultivate good;
run after peace for all you're worth.
God looks on all this with approval,
listening and responding well to what he's asked;
But he turns his back
on those who do evil things.
I praise You as Laura's Creator and recognize that You created all the people with whom she is in relationship. You are their heavenly Father, just as You are hers. They are her brothers and sisters, and You love and forgive them as You love and forgive Laura. You laid down Your life for them as You laid it down for her. Help her to love them as You love her. Help her to know Your boundaries for her relationships and to live inside of them.
I Peter 1:22 (The Message)
Now that you've cleaned up your lives by following the truth, love one another as if your lives depended on it.
Dear LORD,
Whenever Laura goes through tough times, when everything seems to be going wrong, help her to draw near to You and disengage from the concerns of this life, her life on Mercy Ships. I thank You for the holiday she is on right now, and thank You that You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all the she asks or thinks, according to Your power that works in her. (Eph 3:20) I worship You, God of grace, and thank You that after she has suffered a while, You will perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle Laura.
1 Peter 5:10-11 (The Message)
So keep a firm grip on the faith. The suffering won't last forever. It won't be long before this generous God who has great plans for us in Christ—eternal and glorious plans they are!—will have you put together and on your feet for good. He gets the last word; yes, he does.
I praise and thank You for Your power and that You will infuse Your power into Laura in great measure. I worship You, Father of mercy and comfort, and thank You that You comfort Laura in her times of trial.
AMEN
Laura, may you be truly renewed, refreshed, and recreated through this holiday weekend.
Love you,
Mom Z
Dear Omniscient God, Healer Physician, Lover of Laura,
Help Laura to remember that when it seems to her as though things are going wrong, (mom is referring to the experiement that she has been doing with Dr C's guidance over the past couple months) they may not be wrong at all. It may be that You are allowing these things to happen in order to bring Laura to a place of total dependence upon You so the Your purposes can be accomplished in her life. You, Lord, have created her in a fearful and wonderful way, and you know every intricacy of her physiology, and how it works with those things prescribed for her. I trust that you have a purpose for every storm in Laura's life, and that when we all trust You, You will bring us through the storms.
James 5:16 (The Message)
The prayer of a person living right with God is something powerful to be reckoned with.
Laura My Dear Friend Laura,
Know you are in my thoughts and prayers daily. These * * * * *
are sparks of light and love from me to you. Joyce sees and knows you need a long distant Hug ( )
. . . . mmmmmm.
Love you,
Joyce Lindstrom
LORD!
I praise Your name, and I exalt You above all things. You are my King and Lord. In the midst of everything that is happening in Laura's life and all that she is going through, I know that You are the all-powerful God of the universe. Hide Laura in Your secret place in her time of struggle. Lift her high upon a rock so that she may rise above the plans of the Enemy to surround her with problems. I will sing and offer You the sacrifice of praise.
Psalm 27:4-6 (The Message)
4 I'm asking God for one thing,
only one thing:
To live with him in his house
my whole life long.
I'll contemplate his beauty;
I'll study at his feet.
5 That's the only quiet, secure place
in a noisy world,
The perfect getaway,
far from the buzz of traffic.
6 God holds me head and shoulders
above all who try to pull me down.
I'm headed for his place to offer anthems
that will raise the roof!
Already I'm singing God-songs;
I'm making music to God.
You are Laura's help, and I ask that she will hide herself in You. I praise You for all that You are. Hold on to Laura, as she holds on to You.
Psalm 63:8 (The Message)
I hold on to you for dear life,
and you hold me steady as a post.
1 Peter 4:12-13 (The Message)
Friends, when life gets really difficult, don't jump to the conclusion that God isn't on the job. Instead, be glad that you are in the very thick of what Christ experienced. This is a spiritual refining process, with glory just around the corner.
